About this Recipe:

Winter is getting closer so it wouldn't be bad to be prepared for hours of watching the snow beside the fire place. Ginger tea is not only a normal tea but also has some useful herbal medicine effects. First of all the taste of the tea is spicy and hot! So this tea is a double-hot one, first because of its taste second because you drink it when it's hot. It also invigorates the stomach and is used as a home remedy for indigestion, nausea, and to ward off colds, flu, and sore throats.

Main Ingredients:

Ginger: five tiny slices (if powdered less than a teaspoon)
Lemon: 1 medium
Honey: 2 tsp


1. Fill up your teakettle and get it boiling.

2. Meanwhile, grate or slice a one-inch piece of fresh ginger root. (you can use dried and powdered ginger too)

3. Get a thermos out.

4. Put the ginger in the thermos.

5. When your water is boiled, pour it in the thermos.

6. Cover it up and let it sit for 20 minutes.

7. Pour into a teacup.

8. Squeeze one fresh lemon completely in one cup of tea.

9. If you want to sweeten the tea then honey is the first choice. If using honey then let the hot tea loose some temperature.

10. Add some biscuits beside your cup and enjoy! If it's your first time drinking ginger tea then the spicy taste may shock you, but after some minutes you'll like the result. Too many drinks of ginger tea is not recommended, drink one cup per day if living in cold weather. You'll be surprised on its enlivening effects on your mood and behaviour.
